The International Road Federation (IRF) is organizing one day of executive and technical sessions as part of the 7th Brazilian Congress on Highways & Concessions (CBR&C) that will be held in Iguazu Falls, Brazil, October 24-26, 2011. The overall event is sponsored and organized by the Association of Brazilian Highways Concessionaires (ABCR) with the participation of IRF, and the support of the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

This congress will feature international experts focusing on the specific needs of, and proposed solutions to, the infrastructure, safety and mobility challenges of the booming emerging market of Brazil, with a particular emphasis on toll-roads and highways.

Transportation researchers, practitioners, and experts from the public, private, non-profit and academic sectors with an interest in Brazil are invited to submit abstracts and draft technical papers to be considered for presentation on October 26, 2011.

While the overall congress will include road safety, intelligent transport systems (ITS), and asset management sessions, this call for papers is exclusively for the IRF technical sessions focusing on pavements. Within pavements, the areas of interest are technology, innovation, sustainability, and management applied to highways and toll-roads.
